Vase Chou
The conceptual idea of this vase is based on the color which itself becomes the form and vice versa. These two aspects, color and shape, are intrinsic to the manufacture. Contrary to a decor integrated into a predefined shape, Pierre Gonalons wanted to treat them equally. The name of this creation, Chou, brings us back to greedy childhood memories, a cream puff. It is also a nod to cabbage as a vegetable, a subject that greatly inspired ceramic production in the 18th and 19th centuries. The very dynamic shape of the spiral conjures up fun themes like confectionery or pastry. It also refers to the twisted grooves, a decor from Antiquity which has spanned all the periods of the Decorative Arts.
